Itinerary
DAY 1: Thakhek – Gnommalath – Langkhang
Depart from Thakhek and begin your journey along scenic sections of the Thakhek Loop, passing limestone karst landscapes, rural villages, and forested valleys.
Stops along the route allow time for:

Arrive in Langkhang in the late afternoon.

Day 2: Pha Koud Mountain – Houay Hok Trail
Early morning departure for Pha Koud Mountain, where panoramic views reward the climb. Continue with a guided trek along the Houay Hok Trail, passing dense forest and karst terrain.
Depending on group preference and conditions:

Day 3: Songsou Waterfall – Ho Chi Minh Trail – Nong Ping
After breakfast, visit Songsou Waterfall, surrounded by lush forest scenery. Continue along sections of the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail, gaining insight into the region’s past.
In the afternoon, travel to Ban Pakphanang, where a boat journey takes you to Nong Ping, the gateway to Xe Bang Fai Cave.

DAY 4: Xe Bang Fai Cave – Xieng Lue Waterfall – Return
Today is the highlight of the expedition. After breakfast, enter Xe Bang Fai Cave, one of the largest underground river caves in the world.
The cave experience includes:

Dramatic light, water, and limestone formations
After exiting the cave, visit Xieng Lue Waterfall before returning to Langkhang or Gnommalath, then onward to Mahaxay and Thakhek.
